Change Google Assistant Language on Android
The Google Assistant will speak to you in the language you’ve set in Android Settings. You can add or change a language in your Google Assistant settings.
For example, if you set the language for your phone to be English (US), and you set the language for the Google Assistant to Spanish (US), you can speak to the Google Assistant in either English or Spanish.
You can use up to three languages for the Google Assistant on your device: one that’s set for your Android device, and the other two languages that you’ve set for the Assistant.
On your Android phone or tablet, press and hold the Home button or say “Ok Google”.
At the bottom right, Know better and your thingstap
In the top right, tap your profile picture or initial anymoreSettings anymoreAssistant anymore languages
Choose Language ▼.
To change the primary language, tap the language you’re currently using.
To add another language, tap Add language .
You can speak to the Google Assistant in either of these two languages. However, don’t use both languages at the same time.
Some features are not available in all languages. To change your language to Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu, Gujarati or Kannada, set the primary language as your preferred language.
Change Google Assistant Language on iPhone and iPad
The Google Assistant will speak to you in the language you have set in your iPhone or iPad’s settings. You can add or change the languages you want your Google Assistant to speak in by going to your Google Assistant settings.
For example, if you set the language for your phone to be English (US), and you set the language for the Google Assistant to Spanish (US), you can speak to the Google Assistant in either English or Spanish.
You can use up to three languages for the Google Assistant on your device: one that’s set up for your iPhone or iPad, and the other two languages that you’ve set up for the Assistant.
On your iPhone or iPad, Assistant (iOS)open the Google Assistant app .
In the top right, tap your profile picture or initial anymore Assistant anymore languages .
Choose Language ▼.
To change the primary language, tap the language you’re currently using.
To add another language, tap Add language .
You can speak to the Google Assistant in either of these two languages. However, don’t use both languages at the same time.
